It's Election Day! How was your voting experience?
My dad, sister, & I went and got in line at 5:45am--we were about 50 deep, at 6am the doors were opened--there were 50 to 75 more behind us at that point. I voted around 6:20am, easy peasy!
OBAMA
The election is a week from today, who are you going to vote for?
Obama for sure, hands down.
If you had to give up one of your favorite foods, which one would it be?
Not sure which one it'd be, but possibilities are:
(1) Cheese: I like it wayyyy too much and its not healthy
(2) Mexican :( because I eat it WAY to much, like several times a week, and I don't get the healthy things like a fajita or shrimp & veggies, I get the enchiladas, burrito, nachos, and chimichanga. My diet would be significantly healthier if I cut out Mexican
If you could turn back time, at what point in your life would you go back to? What would you do differently?
I was actually thinking about this 2 nights ago. I'd go back a few years to college. Really haven't had a good run since then. I majored in History, and you can imagine just how useful that major is. I would either major in History and get a double in Education or cert in education...or I would've done a different major such as Special Ed or Interior Design or Counseling/Counselor Education or Public Affairs....something. Something that has a job attached to it.
Also, I would've done more volunteering all through college. I would've studied abroad like I wanted.
Concerning the Peace Corps, I would've made different calls--like preferences, volunteer work, apply much earlier.
Just, a lot I wouldve done different to be "on track" for the age I'm age...ugh
Did you watch the baseball game or the debate last night?
The debate and Jon & Kate Plus 8
If you could celebrate one holiday everyday, which one would you pick?
I would want to pick Thanksgiving bc of the food--but for my health and weight, its probably better that I don't. Ummmmm so I'll get back to you on that! (Maybe Memorial or Labor Day?)
If you were stranded on an island, what five books would you bring?
submitted by CJPHrm, not exactly sure WHICH ones.....I'd bring a couple James Patterson books (from the Alex Cross series)........a book about Chinese historical-fiction......photo album....htmmmmm and I'll get back to you on the other one....its too hard to me to choose books, I loooooove books! Its sorta like "you have 3 kids, but pick only 2 to save"...only not as extreme
What sound can't you stand?
the rubbing of bare hands (the palms) on pants, especially jeans--it makes me cringe, my palms sweat, my eyes go wide, and I just can't take it, oh man I hate when people do it. I hate even more when people who I can't ask to stop do it--like an interviewer, or someone at the table next to you, or a teacher, etc. At least family and friends I can ask them to stop. worst noise ever.
also one that just aggravates me is people chomping their gum--close your mouth!
Who do you think did the best in the Presidential debate?
That Guy
Have you ever volunteered for something? If so, what?
Habitat for Humanity
Middle Way House (temp house for abused women to seek shelter, also a hotline in a back room for volunteer to work)
The Rise (main house for MW women to go after Middle Way, worked at their day care)
cMoe (volunteered for 6-wks at a day camp)
will be volunteering in the Peace Corps hopefully starting early 2010
