"It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air." ~W.T. Ellis
How are you celebrating Christmas this year?
Christmas Eve I go to my mom's where we do dinner (last night it was beef tenderloin, scalloped potatoes, spinach casserole, corn, fruit salad, and pop-over rolls which are to die for), we stayed the night there (where I got to spend time with my kitty, he is suuuuuch a bed hog, but that's okay, I like it), and this morning we got up and had eggs, bacon, & toast and then opened presents!
This afternoon I came home to my dad's to wrap 4 more presents, passed out for 30 minutes in utter exhaustion (thank you hard as a rock bed I had to sleep on at my moms), and then got up, and lugged some presents to my aunt & uncle's house where we ate an early dinner (beef tenderloin, ham, cheese potatoes, green bean casserole, corn casserole, cheese potatoes, macaroni, navy beans, rolls, and all sorts of desserts). Then, of course, we opened presents--which was a weird experience this year (in the sense that my other aunt gave me 3 flashlights and a pocket knife.....)
Finally, I went home to my dad's where I set up all of our stocking stuff, waiting for my youngest sister to get home, and for my dad to finish wrapping the rest of my presents (which turned out to be mostly mine). As soon as everyone was ready, we opened presents here (where I really racked up--which is rare)
Now I'm **EXHAUSTED** and need to put some Christmas stuff away.......
But.....we don't do anything like go to midnight mass or various church services or caroling or anything. We just do presents--and eat. We always eat.
When was the last time you drove out of town? Where'd you go and why?
Last Thursday my dad and I drove up to Chicago, came home Friday. I had to get a visa.
If you had to choose a new name for yourself, which name would you pick?
Poopy Pickles
Which color do you think best represents you and why?
Submitted by hocuspocus88.Hrm, off the top of my head I want to say Red b/c that's my favorite color...but then what color actually *represents me*
*thinks hard*
Dark purple--bright enough to reflect my desires to travel and have adventure and learn about the world, but dark enough to reflect that I'm very introverted at the same time and also have crappy days
Where will you be eating Thanksgiving Dinner this year?
I have 3 Thanksgivings this year. *YIKES* but my stummy is excited for mashed potatoes and some green bean casserole.
Thanksgiving 1: Thursday, 12 or 1 pm, at Connie's house--my dad's girlfriend
Thanksgiving 2: Thursday, 6 pm, at my mom's house which is traditional I think
Thanksgiving 3: Friday, 5 pm, at a grandpa's for our big extended family Thanksgiving, most traditional, used to be Thursday, but got moved to Friday when my cousin got married.
All of the above are in town, no more than 15 minutes away
Thanksgiving is only a few days away. What is your favorite Thanksgiving recipe? Will you be making it this year? Mind sharing?
does it count if my favorite Thanksgiving recipe is just simple the mashed potatoes someone else makes? Instead of doing the peel, cube, boil....the potatoes are washed, then heated in the microwave, then placed in a hot oven for 40 min. After, they are cut open and all the potato flesh scooped out. Instead of just the regular butter and milk you put in.....its something like butter and heavy cream in it....ahhhhh mmmmm
With so many gifts to buy, and so much else to do during the holidays, what kind of research do you do when making purchases for everyone on your list?
Sponsored by Best Buy.I just buy as I go--go into a store, look around, "oh maybe X would lke that" and buy it....I tend to be lopsided too and have to redistribute to make it a little more even. I do make a list with ideas....but often they are "if only I could afford that" ideas
What gifts, big or small, are you hoping to find under your tree this year?
Sponsored by Best Buy.A personal chef that's on call and can do ANY food I want, and in any style I want
What's your favorite thing to eat for Sunday breakfast/brunch?
Omelette, breakfast potatoes (not hashbrowns, but like the cubed roasted seasoned potatoes), waffle, bacon, sausage, orange juice--yes, I could easily eat that all in 1 sitting. No I'm not 200 lbs!!! Hehe
I have such an appetite, but you wouldn't know it (I HOPE)
What part of your personality do you wish not to pass on to your child?
I don't want my child to be as introverted as I am (yet not extremely extroverted either, a good medium would be nice)....I'm overly sensitive too. I want my child to be sensitive, but I'm overly.
